After verification of the Minutes of the 4th Presidency Meeting and acceptance of information presented by the HUNIG Chief Secretary about numerous activities of the HUNIG's Secretariat in the first two months of the year, at the 5th meeting held on 24 February 2017 the members of the Presidency accepted the proposal to organise the Ninth International Oil, Gas & Primary Energy Conference in Šibenik from October 3 – 6, 2017. Discussing scientific and professional topics Mirko Zelić, Stevo Kolundžić, Lilit Cota, Miroslav Golub, Gordana Sekulić, Darko Pavlović and others agreed that the themes of the upcoming conference should focus on current issues and challenges, which could contribute to the greater interest of the professional public and companies to actively participate in the Šibenik conference. In this respect the Organising Committee and the Scientific Committee will be set up to prepare a proposal of themes for authors to be able to submit their papers. Also, by the end of March the First Announcement of the 9th International Conference and Exhibition will be prepared and published on HUNIG website.

The Presidency considered several themes to be discussed at the round table which would be organised together with the Scientific Council for Crude Oil & Gas of HAZU in May or June. Said themes include Domestic & International Exploration Licenses: Current Situation and Prospects, What to Expect from Strategies and Policies for Valorisation of Croatian Natural Resources, Project Syria – Today and Tomorrow, Novelties in the New Hydrocarbon Act and others.

Following the above discussions Ivan Meandžija informed the Presidency about the topics covered in the new 149th issue of the Oil & Gas journal to be published in mid-March.
